We reach the second highest point of our tour. In winter this pass is heavily covered by snow and for people who love snow, this is an experience not to be missed. After this high point we fast ride down to the warmer valley of lingmithang and then vlimb again to MONGAR town
The second hop of the day
:: MONGAR
Before the dzong was built sometime in 1950's, Zhongkhar dzong, which is a ruin now, was the administrative centre. The town of MONGAR is located on a hill. It serves as a gateway to Lhuentse, a possible extension, 77 kilometres away, which is notably farmed for its weavers and special textiles and fabrics
The Kurtoe region of Lhuentse is also the heartland of the Royal Dynasty
